Kimberly Vazquez Consulting

Person-Centered People Empowerment.

Person-centered and trauma-informed consulting and training.

Hello! I’m so glad you’re here.

Hi, my name is Kimberly. I am a bilingual licensed social worker, trainer, and Gateways-Approved Infant and Early Childhood Mental Health Consultant (IECMHC).

Throughout my career, I've focused on balancing “How do you feel?” with “How can I help you through this?” My career has been driven by my desire to use my clinical skills to help others and my commitment to see the best in everyone.

I hold a Bachelors and Masters’ in Clinical Social Work with Children and Families with a sub-specialization in Migration Studies. From my social work training, I have worked with low-income and immigrant communities, and I work in English and Spanish.

As an IECHM consultant, I have supported Head Start, Early Head Start, and home-visiting programs. My style is open, non-judgmental, and empathetic. I honor the dedication and vulnerability my consultees show when they invite me in and tell me what’s going on.

I believe in a “feelings first” approach. I hold space and honor the feelings, then gently move forward to next steps.

The only way forward is through, and it’s an honor to work with you to find a way through together.

Why consultation?

Consultation is a well-researched tool for early childhood programs that works. It is a process that involves a trained and competent mental health consultant visiting early childhood sites and offering insight from a neutral perspective. Through observations, reflections, and collaboration, I utilize my skills in social work and mental health consultation to partner with consultees to find a tailored strategy that works.

It’s brave to say “I need help”. It tells me, “I care about this so much and want it to work.” I will partner with you and your team to pave a way forward. Asking for help shows care and dedication, and that’s a beautiful place to start our work. Together, we will celebrate what’s going great and identify what support looks like.

Programs often say, “I don’t know why this isn’t working.” Programs often have tools, strategies, and staff, but effective consultation really works by building confidence and trust.

Trying isn’t failing; it is persevering when it may seem hopeless. It is bravery, care, and strength. Through consultation, I will observe your programs, listen to staff, and offer ideas and perspectives. The true heart of my work is showing consultees, “I hear you. I see how hard you work and how much you care. I’m right here with you, and we will work side by side to find a solution that works for you.”

Team conflict and disconnect isn’t often personal, but instead a feeling of being misunderstood. Consultation is building trust and confidence in both consultees and with teams. Through reflection, I work with staff to hear their perspectives, find common ground, and help teams show compassion for each other and themselves.

Additionally, I offer trainings and workshops, where I train staff on topics like wellness, mental health, working with vulnerable populations like immigrants, and conflict resolution,

Our time together is special, and I honor your sacrifices and willingness to spend time with me. Effective consultation is built on trust and compassion. As we work together, I honor your trust and work toward building something better together.
